Description

There was a reason why I reprocessed my M8/M20 combo that I took with the FLT132, and here it is 😊. I tried to combine the images, at least for the overlapping part, but unfortunately this did not work out that well. Well, I could have cropped all raw images from the ASKAR 400 attempt and rotate them by 90 degrees, that maybe would have been successful, but decided against it since I ran out of time.
And ultimately I did not want to repeat the same view with the new data that captured the wide field around these 2 iconic nebula! The ASKAR 400 really has a wonderful FoV with the 6200, and I am always happy to see that the image does not degrade at the edges. The original version has the full frame, not a crop at all, and with the MyT being very accurate in tracking there was not even a degradation due to stacking.
How was I able to capture this during summer in Florida? Sensationally, we had several nights clear skies, now this is almost unheard of. I could have taken more data, but the moon was at the end of this period almost exactly on top of it, hence no chance. Even these raw data were taken with the moon fairly close by, I expected this to be much more washed out, luckily this was not the case, although one can see some impact of the moon when looking closer.
Back to most miserable weather, it is thundering and raining hard for days now, and the forecast is not good. I got one more target out of this dry spell, hence I shall not complaint, at least something 😊.
P.S.: never realized before this slightly creepy face of Sh2-29 😊.
